2023 St Albans PGC Annual General Meeting
Presidents Report

Hi all that braved the weather today and welcome to the AGM for 2023, my last as President of this great club. I am writing this from the romantic city of Venice, so I send my love to one and all as I meander along the canals in a gondola with my betrothed. Yes Vinnie, your sister.

I will Keep this final Presidents Report short and sweet. Thank you to all of the membership both old and new for the support I have been afforded during my second tenure as President. Last year I asked Googa if he wanted to nominate as it felt wrong to become the longest serving President ahead of the great man Googa. It has been a pleasure most of the time but a privilege all of the time to serve as President. Obviously, it wouldn’t have been possible without a great committee’s backing and continual support. There have been many times where we have not always agreed, but with mutual respect and good old banter, the club and its members have always been the beneficiary of committee decisions. A very sincere thank you to all of the committee members both past and present for all of your work. A special acknowledgment to Trevor and Dayle for their individual efforts as treasurer and Secretary of our club for the smooth running of operations. Colin also steps down today after serving many years on the committee, so a special thanks to you as well. Thanks also to Chris Hussey for his continued website work.

The club continues to operate at a low cost to members thanks to the ongoing support of our major sponsors Cadwallader Marrinucci Veal & Co. Marra, Dibba, Roy & Dom. And also, our recent new sponsor Harrison Motor Group Melton. Thank you all.

The club continues to grow in membership, especially over the last two years with the trip numbers also growing. The club is in a fantastic place, and I am pleased to hand over the baton to Toc as a past president who will have plenty of time on his hands to crack the whip. I look forward to the next chapter of our club.

Thanks for all the fond memories as President, especially the recognition of Life Membership. I look forward to relaxing more at games and improving my golf handicap.
